THE INGONYAMA TRUST BOARD BIDS FAREWELL TO CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, ADVOCATE VELA MNGWENGWE

Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal – The Ingonyama Trust Board (ITB) announces the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, Advocate Vela Mngwengwe, who has tendered his resignation on 28 May 2025. He will continue to serve in his role until 30 June 2025, in line with the 30-day notice period prescribed in his employment contract.

Advocate Mngwengwe assumed the role of CEO on 19 July 2021, and his tenure has been marked by significant strides in organisational reform. Under his leadership, the ITB has experienced enhanced internal controls, improved audit outcomes, a strengthened financial position, and more constructive engagement with key stakeholders. His efforts have laid a strong foundation for the continued advancement of the Board’s strategic objectives.

“We commend Advocate Mngwengwe for his steadfast leadership, commitment to good governance, and valuable contribution to the institution and the Zulu nation,” said Advocate Zama, Deputy Chairperson of the Ingonyama Trust Board. “We wish him continued success in his future endeavours as he takes up a new role on 1 July 2025.”
