KwaCele, KwaZulu-Natal — 01 OCTOBER 2025.

The Ingonyama Trust Board (ITB) has reaffirmed its commitment to community development and youth empowerment by donating R30,000 to the KwaCele Traditional Council during a career exhibition held in the area.

The career exhibition brought together learners, educators, local businesses, and government stakeholders to showcase opportunities available to young people in education, skills development, and future employment. The ITB’s contribution is aimed at strengthening the Council’s capacity to continue hosting similar youth-focused initiatives that inspire and prepare young people for meaningful careers.
Speaking at the handover, ITB representative highlighted that the Board’s mandate goes beyond land administration — it also includes creating avenues for social and economic upliftment across traditional communities.

“Investing in young people is investing in the future of our communities. This donation is a small but significant step in ensuring that traditional councils are supported in their efforts to guide and inspire the next generation,” said Mr Simpiwe Mxakaza Head of Communication Services at ITB.

Expressing his appreciation, iNkosi Mthokozisi Cele of KwaCele Traditional Council said:

“We are humbled by the support from the Ingonyama Trust Board. This contribution will go a long way in helping us host programmes that open doors for our youth, broaden their horizons, and ensure that no child in our community is left behind when it comes to education and career opportunities.”

The KwaCele Traditional Council further noted that the funds will be used to expand career exhibition programmes, provide resources for learners, and strengthen partnerships with training institutions and industry stakeholders.

This initiative forms part of ITB’s broader strategy to collaborate with traditional councils and community structures in promoting socio-economic development, education, and empowerment across rural KwaZulu-Natal.
